LPG BUILT IN HORIZONTAL GAS TANKS
Built
in propane gas tanks provide the convenience of larger gas
storage quantities without the difficulties of lugging heavy
bottles in and out of small lockers for refilling.
By
having the ability to buy bulk LPG liquid gas you will save
money, as bulk gas is much cheaper than buying it in a usual
refillable bottle. Refilling your gas tank is
as
easy as filling up your vehicle tank with fuel, only much
cheaper. There is a UK and Europe wide network of gas refilling
stations with the numbers growing weekly.
This
makes supply of gas in any country so much easier than carrying
numerous alternative bottles for each country you visit. Our red
tanks are designed for vapour
offtake to provide gas for domestic equipment (cooking and
heating etc.). Our red tanks are not suitable for engine gas
conversions; these require a liquid offtake

THE
EN1949 REQUIREMENTS
EN 1949
is the new standard for the installation of LPG into touring
caravans & motorhomes. Amongst other requirements, EN1949
harmonises - across Europe - the installation of LPG in touring
caravans and motorhomes. From the 2004 season onwards (vehicles
manufactured from September 2003), your new Caravan or Motorhome
will be supplied ready-fitted with a special bulkhead mounted
regulator (
GREG524),
labeled 30mbar, which has attached to it a “pigtail” (GPTP25
or
GPTB27)
connector for UK LPG cylinders. This ensures not only that you
have the correct regulator at the correct pressure for your LPG
powered appliances, but also that it is checked along with the
rest of the installation as part of the manufacturer’s gas
safety checks. When traveling in Europe for a safe connection to
a European cylinder, you will need to obtain a “pigtail”,“pigtail
to bottle adaptor” or “foreign cylinder adaptor” that fits the
cylinders available in that country (see below or page 58).
Simply connect adaptor to the end of an existing Butane 21.8 LH
UK “pigtail” while you are using the European cylinder. When you
want to change back to the UK cylinder, simply swap the pigtail
or adaptor back again. Therefore you no longer need to replace
the regulator. An easier option is to install Gaslow refillable
cylinders. They stay in your gas compartment and are refilled at
normal fuel filling stations from their Autogas pumps.
THE
EN1949 REGULATOR SYSTEM FROM C.A.K.
The
bulkhead mounted fixed regulator

has a capacity of
1.5kg/hour and operates at 30mbar.
The
inlet connection is a standard W20 thread, outlet connection is
for 8mm or 10mm copper pipe. For
the
inlet you need a pigtail assembly that fits your cylinder
connection. For propane you need pigtail

With this you now have a standard EN1949

SWITCH 2 MANUAL CHANGEOVER IN HOSE
For
pre-2004 models, this is an alternative twin gas cylinder
connection system which uses your existing regulators. It is
designed
for the
low-pressure side of your gas system after your regulators. The
two supply inlets are controlled by a two-way tap and
can use
either type of LP gas - one side can be Propane, the other side
Butane. Switch-2 makes changeover easy and allows
the
empty cylinder to be removed without switching off the supply.
It is supplied with 3 hose clips and is fitted with a mounting
bracket.
